PRODUCT

SeaStar Paspalum is an improved Seashore Paspalum that yields high-quality turf suitable for use for home lawns, golf courses, athletic fields, and other venues.

It can be mowed at heights ranging from .250" to 1.5" and has excellent turf color that retains well during the fall following light frost or cool temperatures. It has a medium to fine leaf texture and quickly recovers from damage and wear.

Ocean Water

Why is saltwater tolerant important?

SeaStar Paspalum is a type of turf grass that flourishes in sandy soils and areas in close proximity to saltwater. Unlike other turf grasses, SeaStar Paspalum can tolerate water types that are toxic to other species.

It is highly-tolerant and is a great option for areas with poor water quality due to water treatment facilities or ocean water intrusion.

Development

Dr. Paul Raymer, director of the turfgrass breeding and genetics research program at the University of Georgia, developed SeaStar in 2003. This improved Seashore Paspalum variety is patented and can only be sold as certified sod or sprigs by licensed SeaStar growers.

SeaStar has been extensively evaluated in multiple trials and was the top rated line for turf quality, color and texture in the 2007-2009 NTEP seashore paspalum trials at eight locations.
